dry point print of Hades and Persephone  Persephone, the beautiful daughter of Zeus and Demeter, kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld. while Persephone was gone her mother( the goddess of the harvest and the fertility of the earth.) stricken by grief and anger stopped providing life to the crops bringing forth a plague on humanity. Zeus made a deal with Demeter and Hades to end the plague, Persephone could not leave the underworld completely she was bound there for a section of the year, at the beginning of every autumn she would descend to the underworld were she will stay untill the start of spring. in the time shes gone her mother Demeter would not bring life to the crops and a season a darkness would remaining each year. a tribute to the cold weather we are having
